7.8 Earthquake in China

May 15th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in World

First of all, a 7.8 earthquake is extremely large. I think the largest recorded earthquake is somewhere around 8.0. This quake didn’t last for a couple seconds like many that almost everyone has experienced. It shook with quite a large intensity, and didn’t let up for a while. Huge buildings and small buildings alike were completely demolished by the forces of nature, and there was many casualties.

During the Earthquake, a school collapsed and around 900 students were trapped inside. Chinese soldiers tried to find survivors, but there was hardly any. Actually, there has only been one survivor found, out of hundreds of students. Needless to say, there was a lot of grief among the parents as they stood watching the soldiers find dead bodies, and the time drew on.

I found a video on youtube that helps to show how intense the earthquake really was. Hard to believe the Cloverfield film quality was worse than this even when their was no earthquake right?

Search Engine Traffic ~Trendy~

May 15th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Worthless

Ok, so my last post was basically just a test for methods of bringing in search engine traffic. I read off of some blog, that if you post about things that are being searched for a lot, you’ll get more hits. Which is actually pretty obvious if you think about it for a second.

You can go to site’s like google.com/trends and find one of the top searched terms on google for the day. After you find the top searched term, you do a bit of research about what you’ll be writing about (which takes maybe 10 minutes). Then you whip up a quick post and call it quits for the day. Searching for popular terms can usually bring you to something really easy to write about. After all, its popular for a reason right? Most likely, you’re already going to know about what you’re writing about. Maybe the horrible earthquake in China, with 900 students trapped in the rubble of a school. Or News on Yahoo turning down Microsoft, and Microsoft eventually giving up.

What your writing on will always depend on the niche of your blog though. If own a site/blog that has content on breakfast cereals, you aren’t going to want to suddenly create an article on how Britney Spears Vagina was got on camera when she got out of her car. (sorry for that reference, it was the only thing that came to mind at the moment).

Anyways, My previous post was about American Idol, clearly.. or not clearly. My blog is not about American Idol, so I’m not going to pull in a bunch of traffic from the post, and it was by no means an act of SEO genius. Alas, being the writer of a blog that just blogs about everything, I could care less what kind of genius I was showing when I made that post a few moments ago. But it spurred my mind into creating this maybe-useful guide on trendy posting.

With that tongue twister of a good-read, good as I would classify it. I do say, good night.

Good Night

American Idol…

May 15th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Worthless

I don’t know about everyone else, but American Idol has been losing it’s sheen lately.  My family and I would have watched all the episodes this year, had it been an earlier season.  Now it seems that everything I’m seeing on the show I’ve already seen before.  Tons of crappy singers make it in to the top (12) contestants, and all of the good people seem the same.

Maybe it’s because the contestants aren’t making up their own songs, and they’re just altering songs that were great when sung by their creators.  What I’m seeing isn’t original, but don’t get me wrong, some of them can sing other people’s songs very well.  What I’m trying to say is, there isn’t really anything special about any of these people singing songs that somebody else thought up.  Then you go on to see that only a couple of the American Idol winners have really gone and made it big.  That couple being ‘Kelly Clarkson’ and someone else.  But you never really heard from Fantasia again because she’s just, a good singer.

Now, I’m not bashing the show, because I know a lot of people like it, but I definitely think it’s getting a bit old.  Much like the old hit reality show Survivor, which I used to watch all the time.  Of course neither of the shows are the least bit similar, and you could say “I never watched that stupid show”, but I know a lot of people did.  Now the only people still left watching it, are my grandparents and other people who might only be seeing the show for the first time now.

Now, with all of this talk about how boring TV shows have gotten?
Who do you think is going to win American Idol 7?
